Oh my goodness!
Do you want to make these heart shaped cinnamon rolls? Aren’t these adorable! They make the perfect treat for Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day or any day you want to serve warm sweet love. Best of all the heart shapes are easy to make.
Such a fun treat.
Let’s make them!
Items needed:
- Cinnamon roll dough ( I used pillsbury cinnamon rolls )
- Powdered sugar
- Milk
- Red food color
- None stick baking sheet
- Cooking spray if needed
- Spoon
I’ll show you how!
- Pre-heat oven follow package instructions.
- Unroll the cinnamon dough
- Start shaping
On this post I will share two way’s you can shape the cinnamon rolls. I’m using a none stick baking sheet, if you don’t have a none stick baking sheet make sure to use cooking spray on your baking sheet.
First Shape
Opened Heart Shape
For the opened heart shape you will need to unroll the cinnamon roll.
As shown on the photos below.
To give the cinnamon roll the heart shape start by connecting the ends of the unrolled dough. Secure the center of the cinnamon dough to create the heart by pinching or slightly twisting the ends together. Pinch the bottom to give it the V shape. Mold the dough to create the heart shape we all learned to make as kids. The dough should look something similar to the photo below.
FYI:
For the opened heart shape you will need to improvise the cook time. In my case they cooked in half the time the package instructions advised.
Second Shape
This shape is very simple all you need is the handle of a spoon to form the heart shape.
Gently pull on the roll to give it a V shape.
To create the top of the heart use the handle of a spoon to give it that dip at the top center. Gently mold the heart into shape.
It really is that simple!
To bake these heart shaped cinnamon rolls you should follow the package instructions.
Icing
Super Quick and Simple. They are adorable and everyone will love them.
The pre-made icing is not enough in my opinion.
I add milk and powdered sugar to the pre-made icing for extra icing.
To change the color I use food coloring. For this light pink I used a drop of red food color.
The icing turns out best if you maintain the same consistency as the pre-made icing. Add very little milk and powdered sugar at a time mix as you go.
Now serve and enjoy your delicious Heart Shaped Cinnamon Rolls.
Have a Great Day!
